Bought domain name from godaddy.com and hosting from hostgator?

Question by valleygirl: Bought domain name from godaddy.com and hosting from hostgator?
I don't know much about websites. I bought a domain from godaddy.com and hosting from hostgator.com. The customer service guy on hostgator said I need to go to godaddy.com and do something with the domain name there so it can be connected to hostgator. I didn't understand what he was saying. Help please?
