How to host a game server from home without making ping/lag high?

Question by Noname: How to host a game server from home without making ping/lag high?
My spare computer dedicated to hosting my SA:MP server just shit the bed, but my PC (which runs vista) makes the pings high a lot and when I'm trying to actually play my server on my PC, I lag.

I have no money what so ever to buy paid hosting. What can I do to make it not lag, nor the pings get high? Thanks
