Would it be illegal to make my Linux Mint operating system look like a windows product?

Question by A Simple Guy like any other: Would it be illegal to make my Linux Mint operating system look like a windows product?
I'm a huge Linux fan-boy and well my friends and family members who use my computer have issues. So I downloaded a few files that I could use to make it look like windows xp. If I use these files to make it look like windows xp, would I get in trouble for copyright issues? I would only have the themes for purely personal use and nothing else.
